Through the generous contributions of many parishioners, 52 teachers and principals in our Twinning Parish were paid a full year’s salary for the 2015-16 school year.  The money raised is helping to break the ongoing cycle of severe poverty in Haiti by providing teachers a stable monthly income and by helping ensure the students of Lalomas, Haiti receive the education they deserve.
Teachers in Haiti are paid on average $115 per month. Money is securely wired into individual bank accounts for each teacher so every dollar goes directly to the intended recipient. Holy Spirit Parish Twinning Project is continuing the giving opportunity that was begun in 2014. Your donation will ensure funds are available to pay the teachers for the 2016-17 school year.

The Gospel calls us to be the “bread for one another”. With this effort, we have joined over 300 parishes across the United States who have developed their own relationships with schools and parishes through the Parish Twinning Program of America. These fruitful and faithful relationships are helping to change the face of poverty in the world, one parish at a time.
 
The Haiti Mission Team of Holy Spirit Parish is thankful to all who have supported this effort through contributions of time, money, and especially prayers.  As we renew our commitment to this project, we ask that you prayerfully consider supporting this effort again to the extent that you are able.  Will you answer the Gospel call?  Will you be bread for another?
